Choosing the Right Display Case
The right display case is the single biggest factor in protecting your collection. Here are your main options:
- Glass vs. acrylic cases: Glass looks more premium and resists scratching better. Acrylic (plexiglass) is lighter and less likely to shatter, making it a safer choice for shelves with heavier models like 1/18 scale cars.
- Single-car risers: Great for showcasing one hero piece on a desk or shelf. Keeps it dust-free and visible from all angles.

- Avoid fingerprints on chrome: The oils from your skin can etch chrome parts over time. Handle chromed pieces with cotton gloves or from the base.
- Compressed air for tight spots: A can of compressed air (held upright and used in short bursts) clears dust from wheel wells and grilles without contact.
- Moving and storage: If you need to pack your collection, wrap each piece individually in acid-free tissue paper and store in a firm box. Never stack models directly on top of each other.
